Privacy Policy

This is a working template. Have it reviewed by a qualified adviser for every market you advertise in before launch — particularly if you are running ads into the EU, the UK, or California.

Who we are

This site is operated by PMD, at Saint-Isidore, QC, Canada. For any privacy question, email privacy@tictic.com.

What we collect, and why

When you join the Tictic waiting list, we store:

  • Your email address — required. This is how we send you release updates. It is the only field we insist on.
  • Your first name, usual shoe size, country and how you found us — all optional. Size and country help us plan the first production run; the rest helps us write emails that are not addressed to “Hi there”.
  • Your consent — the exact wording you agreed to, the version of that wording, and when you agreed. We keep this so we can demonstrate that you opted in.
  • How you arrived — the campaign parameters in the link you clicked (utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content), the referring site, and which app’s in-app browser you were using. This tells us which posts and ads actually work.
  • Technical details — your browser’s user agent, language, and a salted, irreversible hash of your IP address. We do not store the IP address itself. The hash exists only to spot automated signups.

What we do not do

  • We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with advertisers.
  • We do not take payment details. Nothing on this site is for sale.
  • We do not set advertising cookies ourselves to follow you around other websites. The one exception is Amazon, described below, and only if you click one of their links.

Amazon affiliate links

Some pages — the accessories page and the guides — contain links to products on Amazon.ca. Tictic is a participant in the Amazon Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program: if you buy something after clicking one of those links we earn a commission, at no extra cost to you. Each page that contains such links carries a visible disclosure.

When you click an Amazon link, Amazon — not this site — sets a cookie in your browser so that it can attribute a purchase to us. We never see what you buy or who you are; we receive aggregate statistics only. Amazon’s own handling of that cookie is described in the Amazon.ca Privacy Notice. No Amazon script runs on this site and no Amazon cookie is set unless you click through.

Storage in your browser

We store the campaign parameters from your arriving link in your browser’s session storage, so that if you sign up after browsing for a while we still know which post brought you here. It is deleted when you close the tab, it is not readable by any other site, and it contains no identifier for you personally.

Where your data is processed

Waiting-list entries are stored with our hosting and database providers. Name your hosting, database and email providers here Depending on the provider, this may involve a transfer outside your country. Name each provider explicitly before launch — a policy that does not name its processors is not compliant in the EU or the UK.

How long we keep it

Until you ask us to delete it, or until we close the waiting list and tell you we are doing so. If you unsubscribe we keep a minimal record of the unsubscribe itself, so that we do not email you again by accident.

Your rights

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to see the data we hold on you, correct it, have it deleted, take it elsewhere, or object to our using it. Email privacy@tictic.com and we will act on it. You do not need to give a reason.

Unsubscribing

Every email we send has a one-click unsubscribe link. It takes effect immediately, and there is no confirmation step to click through.

Changes

If we change what we collect, we will update this page and note the date at the top. Material changes will be sent to the list by email.
